One Legacy Donate Life Rose Bowl Parade Events 2024/2025

I'm grateful that I got to close out 2024 and welcome in 2025 with OneLegacy during their various Rose Bowl Parade events. I prepped strawflower for assembly, climbed scaffolding, and decorated the float with pieces of clipped corn. Watching the parade on TV is one thing, but helping with float decorating and watching the parade in person took my appreciation of the parade to a whole new level!

In addition to float decorating, I also created caricatures for organ donors, donor families, organ recipients, and recipient families. It was an honor and a treat to hear everyone's personal stories of their loved ones while I worked on their caricatures. Thank you for letting me into your lives. I hope my art captured some portion of the warmth of your loved ones conveyed in your stories that you shared with me.

This was my first year participating in the parade and surrounding events. I hope to be back again next year.

I also took a bunch of videos of some of my favorite floats and live performances during the parade. I haven’t decided if I’m going to edit it into some kind of 2024 wrapped video or leave it in my own personal smile file. Time will tell :)
